Winter 2022/ 2023 3D Seismic.
The 3D seismic survey carried out in the winter of 2022/2023 enabled a 3D model of the subsurface to be created for the Kurpfalz region. The data from the earth microphones, the geophones, was then read out and analyzed and processed by our geologists. The data is used to plan and implement geothermal projects in the Kurpfalz region. For our projects, we need detailed information about the nature of the underground in the region.
Heat purchase agreement Climate-neutral heat for Mannheim.
On April 5, 2022, the Mannheim-based energy supplier MVV concluded a purchase agreement with Vulcan Energie for the supply of climate-neutral heat over 20 years. In the future, Vulcan will supply MVV with up to 350 gigawatt hours of renewable heat per year. In total, up to 35,000 Mannheim households can be supplied with heat in a secure and CO2-neutral way. The climate-neutral energy comes from a geothermal heating plant yet to be built. In the future, Vulcan Energie will also extract lithium for battery production from the thermal water used there.
